10″ Service No. 1 Guard Khukuri, also known as the EGKH Military Kukri, is a handmade military kukri designed for heavy-duty work in Nepal. It features a 10″ blade made from 5160 High Carbon Steel with a semi-polished razor-sharp finish. The kukri comes with a full tang and a 5” blocker handle made of Rosewood, with a circumference of 4.2″. The handle is accompanied by a pinewood scabbard wrapped in water buffalo leather. This kukri is made by a talented blacksmith from Nepal. The blade has an upper-spine thickness of 9mm. The belly of the blade measures 1.9” and has a hardness of 45-46RC. The edge of the blade is extremely sharp with a hardness of 58-60RC, making it suitable for a range of outdoor activities such as bushcraft, clearing foliage, cutting bamboo, felling medium-sized trees, breaking coconuts, and much more. The full tang design ensures that the handle is secure and comfortable to hold. This kukri is used by soldiers in Nepal and outdoor enthusiasts who need a reliable tool to cut wood, meat, and clear bushes. It is one of the common and popular Khukuri for Army soldiers in Nepal and out of Nepal also. The khukuri alone weighs 750 gm while the total weight is about 1060 gm including the scabbard, karda & chakhmakh. The Kukri is accompanied by two small knives, Karda and Chakmak. The Karda is a sharp knife used for small tasks like skinning animals, opening cans, and cutting fruits. The Chakmak is a blunt knife used to hone the blade and create a spark with flint to start a camping fire.
