Watch the 12″ Royal Gurkha Four Fullers (4 chira) Classic Khukuri being tested to cut iron nail in the video below: The blade of the khukuri is very unique in design with a Royal Classic design with four fullers on the blade. The blade is razor sharp with oil-quenched tempering and is easy to sharpen with the utility knives provided with the kukri. The handle is 5 inch long and beautifully made from a combination of dark Indian rosewood and brass glued up together by traditional Nepali glue called “Laha”. The overall length of the khukuri is 17-inch. The scabbard is made up of pinewood wrapped in refined water buffalo leather. All Khukuris have two pockets on the back of the scabbard which hold a blunt steel called “chakmak” for sharpening the blade or for striking spark with a flint and a little sharp knife known as “karda” used for skinning small animals or cutting fruits. Uses: Khukuris are used by all Gurkha regiments throughout the world. It is a characteristic survival blade of the Nepalese army, the Royal Gurkha Rifles of the British Army, the Gorkha regiments of the Indian army, the Singapore Police, and the Royal Brunei Guard. It can be used both as a tool and as a weapon. This khukuri can be used to chop wood & logs, cut meat & vegetables, clear bushes, split kindlings etc. This kukri can also be used as a trekkers knife during trekking or a survival knife on your outdoor trips like hunting & camping. This khukuri’s blade is strong & sharp enough to cut or break hard bricks into pieces, cut steel nails, cut loosely hung ropes, paper etc.
