Description This book compiles past commentary by director Hayao Miyazaki featured in model magazines, tracing his thoughts through rare discussions spanning nearly 40 years. Beginning in the inaugural issue of the model magazine Monthly Model Graphix (November 1984), the series “Zassou Note” presented Miyazaki’s hobbyist world—an imaginative blend of military trivia, fiction, and fantasy. The blockbuster animated films Porco Rosso and The Wind Rises were also based on manga serialized in this magazine. Additionally, Miyazaki shared a wealth of little-known military insights in this publication and its sister magazines (Armor Modeling and Scale Aviation).
