A naturalist, novelist, translator, yokai researcher, and media personality. Graduated from the Faculty of Law at Keio University. After graduating, he joined Nichiro Gyogyo and worked as a computer programmer while beginning his translation and criticism of British and American supernatural and fantasy literature under the pen name Dan Seiji. In the 1980s, his first novel “Teito Monogatari,” which compiled the wisdom of popular occultism and was serialized in Gekkan Shosetsu-Oh (Kadokawa Shoten), became a massive bestseller with over 3.5 million copies sold and was adapted into a film.
